New Adventure Truck Series | Ready for Adventure
Springfield, MO February, 2019 – Travelling the Globe? Looking for the ultimate vehicle? Look no farther than the exciting new www.adventuretrucks.com by Global Expedition Vehicles; which creates a new segment in the Overlanding Industry for off-road capability, comfort, and affordability.
It all started back in 2004 when Mike Van Pelt decided he could build a better Overlanding Vehicle after using typical RV, 5th wheel trailer, and other off-road campers. Not suitable for off-grid, rough terrain, extended range, or cold weather; Mike and wife Rene’ used that valuable information to create 6 other highly custom Expedition Vehicle models. The Adventure Truck is a cumulation of development in the GXV pedigree.
The 12’6” long x 89” wide fiberglass composite body is a seamless one-piece molded interior and exterior design. 30mm close cell foam provides insulation for those sub-freezing temperatures in Alaska or the extreme heat of South America. With no balsa wood within the foam, no rotting will occur. A Kinetic Mounting System allows for full-compliance articulation while isolating the stress from the frame rails into the body. Integrated storage lockers, underbody compartments, and a front roof rack offer abundant gear storage.
The cabin area includes a kitchen area with a stainless steel sink, Induction cooktop, and a 12v Vitrifrigo Refrigerator/Freezer. Sleeping accommodations include a full size 54” x 80” mattress for two people. A dining area with an adjustable swivel table converts into an auxiliary sleeping area. The cab-to-cabin access door allows moving into the truck on those cold winter mornings. The enclosed and spacious wet-bath provides an accessible and functional space. Tired of dealing with a 50-gallon black water tank? The Thetford Cassette Toilet just made life easier! No more searching for an RV dump station.
What powers this off-grid machine? Up to 650-watt solar panels connect to Marine Grade 400-800 amp hour AGM or Lithium Ion Batteries. The Solar panels are angled on the roof to maximize the sunlight captured in the morning and the evening. When Sunlight isn’t available, the chassis alternators and shore power allow redundant charging. A Webasto Hydronic heater heats the fresh water from the 60 or 90-gallon freshwater tank, also heating the cabin air. All monitored through a Mastervolt Easy View Display.
